This upcoming weekend I'm going to do a presentation/workshop at a behavior symposium at Tufts Veterinary School. I am super-excited to be getting to do this although I'm not too thrilled about driving five hours there and five hours back. I'm going to be doing a talk regarding "As Seen on TV" dog training...meaning I'm going to have two hours to ramble about how much I loathe Cesar Millan and how he should be choked with a metal collar and then alpha rolled against a brick wall.
In all seriousness, I'm doing this for the benefit of dogs everywhere. Vets generally know little to nothing about behavior and if I'm going to be reaching vet students that's awesome. People need to know that not everything seen on natgeo (or any other channel) is correct and good and right.
Other than THAT considering it IS valentines day, I'll say something about that. My boyfriend Kevin and I went to a fantastic little Italian restaurant in Willamsburg last night (Bemontes). The food was delicious. Onto the dogs!
Happy Valentines Day from Daycare!

Stella. I typically take up to 450 photos a day but only keep about 100 of them. For some reason I really liked this photo of Stella. She's so pretty! |

Happy Valentines Day to those who celebrate it!
I stumbled upon your blog when I was searching for a Cesar Millan article by a Rutgers grad student for a coworker and I found this post. It is AMAZING that you are spreading the word that TV training =/= "real life" training because I can't tell you how many times people suggest I try something "Cesar said" when I am working with my (mostly formerly) aggressive dog in public. I had an AWFUL time finding a trainer that doesn't subscribe to dominance theory (as did all of my vet's recommended trainers) when addressing aggression so I believe educating vets for what to look for in a trainer will help many dogs and their people. Very cool pictures. Ringo tugs on my heartstrings because I have a "thing" for baby brindled scruffy dogs!
