FAQ's for Dogs of Unleash Brooklyn Blog

Q: Why don't I see my dog?
A: Several reasons. Maybe your dog is camera-shy/flash-shy. Even if he/she isn't at home, the behavior can arise in new situations especially if your dog is already excited. If I notice a dog is being camera shy, I tend to not take photos in that run unless that dog is out for a walk. Which brings me to...maybe your dog is playing all day BUT has a camera-shy dog in the run with him/her. In that case I won't be frequenting the run with the camera too often. Maybe your dog is so playful that they are hard to capture in anything other than blur-form. Often dogs run around so quickly that it's really REALLY hard to capture a good photo of them (as hard as I try...). If you don't see your dog, leave me a comment or shoot me an email and I'll do my best to try to get them next time!

Q: Why is my dog being attacked?
A: I promise your dog is NOT being attacked. Dogs don't play in the way that we do. They use their teeth. Some dogs more than often. The reason they can do this without hurting each other is because when they are little they learn bite inhibition from their siblings; it teaches them "how much bite" is okay and "how much bite" hurts! This is the same concept of training a teething puppy not to mouth on our fingers but squealing like a puppy when they bite down too hard. We work hard to read our dogs' body language and to learn every personality in order to prevent dog fights from happening in the first place.

Q: Why do I always see my dog sleeping?
A: Probably because unfortunately I cannot be in every run at once with my camera :(. I tend to enter the runs when the dogs are the calmest (meaning they have JUST finished playing and are exhausted) to take photos of them. Sometimes they get riled up when a new dog enters the run and starts playing. Sometimes they don't. Dogs tend to sleep up to 15 hours per day or more...naptime is natural AND healthy for our pups.

Q: Why are the pictures so small?
A: I'm not sure. Click on them and they get MUCH bigger. High-definition!
